a little hope

tonight i went to the bar with nick and missy, to watch the SU game. basketball games are silly, but i wanted to get out of the house, and the more we go to bars, the better i feel about them. there was a cute girl there, near the end of the night, that checked me out, too, and i did not introduce myself. my resolution is that the next time i see a cute girl, i go up and say hello. no more of this keeping to myself shit.

a dude looked at charlie today. from an hour away. before he came, i’d adjusted the idle speed screw, and cranked it up to 14k rpms, and once i did, i swear, he ran better than he’s ever ran. i’m not positive where it’s sposed to be, but up till now everyone insisted on 10k rpms. but at the higher speed, he ran smoother, didn’t stall, and even switched gears nicer.

the dude who came to look at him spent a lot of time checking him over, and drove him up and down the driveway a bit. he was a nice guy, tho we didn’t talk much. he offered me 1500, and i said i was hoping for 2000. he basically said, "if you change your mind, let me know." he said if it ran smoother, he wouldn’t hesitate. aw, well. honestly, after the idle speed fix today, i started seriously reconsidering keeping him. i didn’t really want to get rid of him anyway, and if he runs ok, then there’s no need! i can come back in a few months with someone, and we can make a roadtrip. i know at least one person who’d be interested, and if charlie’s up for it, and i’ve got a partner, i’d love it.

also, a dude finally called me back about a liveaboard sailboat. now, i haven’t looked at it, obviously, but hopefully caroline can go check it out for me. i just think that’d be so cool, to live on a sailboat in the marina. i’ve got another prospect, that is 1/2 a block from venice beach. it’s a tiny studio apartment, but that close to the beach, i doubt i’ll care that it’s a room with a kitchen and a shower, yano? neither one are solid yet, but they’re leads, and if either panned out for real, i think it’d be a great start to a fun californian adventure.

one where i say hello to cute girls when i see them, eh? right.
