worked today. it was nice, though i didn’t get as much done as needs doing. i’m not stressed about it, though, i think i’m at a place where i’m okay with getting done as much as i get done in a day.
and then, for supper, i bought my dad and i subway sammiches. i read a blog post by the lead actor in Chuck, on NBC, about how the show might be canceled, and, since subway is their lead sponsor & advertiser, he asked the people go out, buy a sandwich, and fill out a card saying "thanks for supporting chuck!" you should google it, there’s been an intense response, and i think it’s a genius idea. whether the whole thing is a stunt to earn subway more money, or whether it’s really an effort to not cancel the show, it’s genius. so i did it. and i tuned in to watch the season finale… i love that show, and this episode kicked it up a notch. they can’t end this show. they can not.
and then i went upstairs, moved some remaining material objects that i own around, until i could vacuum my rug. i vacuumed, heavily, and rolled it up. and i blew up my airbed, so i won’t have to sleep in casey’s room anymore. it’s not all complete, there’s some to clean still, but it’s close. it feels kinda nice to be in a new room; it’s a little more open now, with less stuff. i’m considering not putting a desk in there after all, in hopes that it’ll stay sort of a sanctuary, away from computers and stress and clutter. but who knows what i’ll do.
also, erika pointed me to this site where you can upload mixtapes online. i made one.
oh, and finally, i have a new obsession. nikon recently came out with a dSLR similar to my current camera. the pictures it takes are bigger, can shoot in lower lighting, and is generally just slight improvements over my 5-year old camera. but. there’s one huge difference, and it’s that this camera … can shoot HD video. not a lot, and it’s not perfect. but because it’s made in a dSLR, it uses the same lenses, the same colors, the same exposure controls. the shit looks like film, if you do it right. i was once this excited about photography, right before i got this camera i have now. and i remember i dabbled in video for a while, going to college thinking i’d be a filmmaker, but i just couldn’t get it to look like how i wanted. i couldn’t get the depth of field, the colors, the movement, with the camcorders i could afford. so i’m saving the hell up for this new camera, and will probably sell the camera i have now to pay for it. so that i can not only keep taking photos, but can make movies, too. look here or here for some absolutely beautiful, inspiring examples.
that is all. good night.

CHUCK! i don’t want it to get cancelled either! I remember when the writer’s strike was going on I was super afraid it would go off the air, because it was a new show. I love it so much (even if it is on at the same time as house. that’s what dvrs are for)
