pure, unrelenting chaos

it’s an early night tonight, because i’m tired. i went to a show tonight – sort of more like a show and tell, really. it was in this sketchy attic in this sketchy house on south salina street. the kind of place i’d expect there to be anarchy meetings. not that i’m against anarchy meetings, but if you can imagine it, it’s what it was like.

i got there late, but was apparently way earlier than when the music was meant to start. so i met my friend’s friends, and we piled into a car to get some food at the grocery store. and when the show actually started, the music was just… not for me. yelling and hard rock at first, from a group of 50 year old guys. the lead "singer" was playing charades with himself, i’m assuming acting out the meaning behind whatever he was saying. they were too old to be hanging out at this joint. i was too old to be hanging out at this joint.

but my friend’s band is really good – he’s got a knack for ethereal melodies, it was just this bed of interesting notes. like explosions in the sky, if you’ve ever heard them.

and then the band afterword was worse. scene kids, doing actual hardcore this time. just painful, ugly noise.

i think i’m a little bit grumpy on accounta one of our clients. just not my kinda project, and today it was difficult. especially since caroline’s going on vacation soon, it’s gonna be more difficult to handle than i expected, kuz i just don’t understand what they need.

oh, and i got a bill for my ambulance ride a couple weeks ago. $14.50 for the mileage, $622 for life support. which is totally ridiculous, because they didn’t keep me alive at all. i sat on a bench as we drove less than a mile. grrrr.

but, what can i do. a bad day is just a day, in the end. i’ll lay down and watch a tv show and cheer up or something. i’m glad i got out of the house, even if the show was 2/3rds weird.
