today was a really fantastic day.
i woke up late, because i went to bed so… early. working on side projects, i often get carried away, and stay up far too long.
today was the family reunion, and i did not want to go. it’s not that they’re so bad, but like any reunion, it’s always catching up with people you aren’t that familiar with, and that general awkwardness i sometimes have in groups. so instead, nick & missy & i went golfing at pope’s grove, where my grandpa used to take me. missy had never been golfing, and it was a lot of fun offering advice and seeing how naturally good she is at it. nick & i had a little friendly competition – loser pays – and i’m quite consistently only a few strokes behind him. and wow, what a beautiful day it was. it was hot, and a little humid, with not a cloud in the sky, all day long. we put charlie’s top down & enjoyed the breeze.
later on, they came over to watch watchmen on my dad’s ridiculously large television. i can’t say i love that movie, because it hardly makes you feel good, but i certainly respect it. heavy stuff.
but i just wanted to say that it was a fantastic day.
