charlie finally checked out of the doctor’s today. it was a hefty bill, but not as bad as it could have been. it went on my credit card, because, while i have the cash to pay for it now, i’d rather save the money for a little bit later. i need to remind kathleen-my-teacher that i willingly used a credit card. she’ll be floored, no doubt.
so charlie came home, and my dad was pretty excited about it. i like that he’s trying to build my confidence in driving him. i was gonna let rizzo drive us bowling tonight, but my dad was like, “no way! you’ve got to drive; you’ve got to celebrate!” so we compromised: charlie and i picked up shane, and drove to rizzo’s, and then rizzo drove to the bowling lanes. it was kind of charlie’s maiden voyage, because i want to pretend all the previous ones didn’t count, and it was a success. i still have some learning to do, but it’s all minor stuff, more like getting used to it than major education.
i think this is the start of a beautiful friendship.
in other news, interview = check plus. good conversation. much more to do, and much more to think about, but it was nice to feel like an accomplished member of society again, at least for an hour. more later. micah out.
