i frgot to mention yesterday, i’m taking american film ii for my liberal arts class, in hopes of finally appreciating what shane’s been talking about all these years. the teacher is relatively creepy, but our first class, we watched easy rider. awesome!
and micah went to dee party. not for that long. it was smaller than i expected, and there were about three people i knew, but i’m glad i went. it was my friend monica’s 21st birthday, and she is, let’s say, eclectic. strange atmosphere, but i could have copped out on going and i didn’t, and i’m glad i was social. tomorrow there’s an art show in burbank that i’m goin to, hopefully with my friend pacho.
i’ve been having intense trouble with my email lately. wtf?
oh, ‘n big news. i got two more jobs today, so i’ve got three jobs now! a teacher came to me and asked me to TA his motion graphics class on wednesdays, and i signed up to be a digital media tutor. now, the TA job is six hours a week, and my boss rearranged my schedule so i’d have it free. the tutoring, they’d like us to cap at four hours a week. both are $15/hr. that’s on top of my 16 hrs a week in the computer lab, at $11/hr. that’s unfortunately 26 hours a week, and while i’m only taking 12 credits this semester, i am working on a huge ass thesis project, and working with caro on a bunch of smaller stuff. i think 26 will be too much, so i talked to my boss, and asked if he could get me down to 10. he said he wanted to hire a new tech, and hopefully in a few days he’d be able to. we’ll see. such promises have been made before. honestly, if i quit the computer lab, i’d still be making almost the same amount of money, but i don’t want to quit the computer lab, so i’m gonna do what i can to make it work. 20 hours isn’t so bad, if i’m only in class for 20 hours. most people work 40 hours a week, even if that’s me pretending i don’t have homework. i guess a bunch of homework can get done while i’m working in the computer lab. who knows, i’ll give it a shot. money is cool. i’m excited about the tutoring, because i’m gonna be teaching what i know of ruby on rails to my friend whitney, who wanted to build a social network for her thesis, but didn’t know how. i remembered that, and contacted her as soon as they signed my paperwork. i’m sure i’ll be able to help, as long as she’s willing to learn. i’m looking forward to it.
