new job today. i essentially got paid to do absolutely nothing, which is okay, even if it makes me feel bored. or useless.
i worked the old job from 8 to 12, then the new job 1230 to 630, and when i got out, it was a time when people were coming to class but no one was leaving, so i couldn’t find a ride home except caroline, who got out at 10. so i got some groceries at the grocery store and came back and ate with valerie, who works in the lab, whom i havent ever really chatted with. i like when nonchalant, stranger conversations turn even the slightest bit involved, and talking about her living situation and old boyfriend was really interesting.
eventually, monica came in to say hi, and she and i started chatting about her life, and some dumb stuff she was going thru, and i was mostly trying to listen to help. we wandered away to the stairwell to talk more, and we talked about me a little, whether that’s a good idea or not. and then kali and peter appeared and leaned against the wall to joke around with us. i convinced kali to play a song on my guitar tomorrow, just for kicks. i’m sure no one will actually want to play with me tomorrow at work, but no matter, i can amuse myself. there was one time, the time casey visited my work for an hour on her way to washington, when she insisted i bring my guitar to play around with. or did i have it for some other reason? i dont remember, just that it was there when she was.
and tomorrow morning i’m gonna help mark with some boards he’s got to make, in the lighting studio. and i was joking around with sara and brittney, to waste time, and they asked me to do a british accent for their commercial. i couldn’t at the time, on the spot, but i told em tomorrow morning or afternoon i would. i doubt they’ll call me to make it happen, but it would totally make my day if they did.
oh, and as far as the pictures. i realize i havent taken new pictures in a while, but it’s cuz i’ve been lending my camera to peoples who needs it. i shud have it back tomorrow, so you’ll get some new shnaz soon.
and can i also mention that it is totally worth it to write my own blog code? tonight, for some obscure reason, when i posted, the date was wrong, and it displayed tomorrow’s date. well, earlier, i built in a function that, if it’s between midnight and seven am, the post’s date will be the previous day (so that the date corresponds to the date in which the day took place). but tonight there was this error, so i opened up a text file, and added in this single line of code, restarted the server, and now when i edit a post, i can change the date. just like that, a simple drop down menu. awe-fuckin-some. go me.
