the past few days have been a lot. last night we went to go see that movie i was talking about, last stop for paul. it was incredible. worth seeing more than once, even if it costs 8.50. which is actually the cheapest movie i’ve heard of here. i’m tired so i’ll skip the rest.
today i went out with colin to celebrate his birthday. it was a few days ago. his parents picked me up, which i wasn’t expecting, but it was nice to see them again. we went to this place called pirate’s dinner adventure. it was absolutely insane. so much fun. made for little kids, really, but no matter to us. it was him and his parents and me, plus a few other people, one or two of which i know already. it was a dinner theatre, but las vegas style. pirates swash buckling, and every one had a color. we were sitting in the yellow section, so we had to root for the yellow pirate, antonio. we went nuts, like ur sposed to, cheering for him and booing the other ones. it was so exciting. and every once in a while some kids would get called up to the boat (there was a giant boat surrounded by water for the stage) and colin and dj (the other guy from school sitting next to me) would comment that they wished they could go up there. and then, i think because we were three guys and all super loud and rambunctious, towards the end of the show, this pirate helper guy came up to us and said, “how would you three like to be in the show?” so we went out to the lobby, got on our costume, and listened to our instructions. at the right time, we ran up to the stage and hauled up the sails, and then looked at the audience, flexed our muscles and screamed “arrrrrgggggg!” then later we did a little dance for everyone in the finale. it was so much fun, it was really unbelievable.
there was this one gypsy girl character that got held hostage by the pirates. and all the pirates wanted her. she was an acrobat, and would do those acrobatic numbers where she does splits from hanging pieces of fabric and stuff. really impressive, and i swear to god she looked just like dana. i wanted to give dana a call later tonight, but it was too late. im not sure if im still in love with her, but i’m confident that i loved her.
but back to the story at hand, after the amazzzzzing pirate show, we headed back to colin’s. we thought all the kids that went with us would meet us back there to hang out, but no one wanted to, they were watching the jane austen book club at their place. we decided to go. i convinced him it was a good movie. and it really was. it gave me a lot to think about. it might have had something to do with my thoughts on dana.
so after the movie, i decided to go home. colin was going home, and he told me i was welcome to sleep at his place, but it would be a hassle tomorrow morning so i decided to go home. i figured id call a cab. i did call, but got no answer, and in LA cabs dont flag down like they do in NY. i took it as an opportunity to test out the walk home. i’ve gotten rides every time so far this semester, and i thought it’d give me some good time to think. it did. it took me about an hour and a half, and i took my time. i stopped at the grocery store and explored places i hadnt payed attention to before. yano theres a farmers market prolly a mile from my house? fresh food daily, and probably cheaper than the super market, and local. im gonna have to try em out.
it was a little scary walking home, tho not at first. i started out on a really big, safe, and empty street. it was very clean in comparison to the rest i walked on. not a soul the whole way. i snapped off a dead tree limb to give myself a weapon/walkin stick. and walking home made me feel like i was in i am legend. practically empty streets, but all ditrty and done the ones.
